BCITO is responsible for developing and implementing training, and setting qualification standards for the building construction industry. Areas covered include carpentry, cement and concrete, interior and exterior cladding, plastering, and floor and wall tiling.

CBANZ is a nationwide builders' organisation whose members are all trade qualified. 

Department of Building and Housing

The Department of Building and Housing ensures the laws and standards that govern the building and housing sector are effective, and provides information, advice and dispute resolution services to the public. They also work with the building and housing sector to develop better professional standards and provide policy advice to the Government. 

Registered Master Builders Federation

The Registered Master Builders Federation is responsible for promoting the interests of its members and liaising with other organisations within the building construction industry.

Site Safe New Zealand undertakes the research, development and co-ordination of health and safety activities targeted at the construction industry. It has the specific aim of reducing construction site injuries and deaths.
